Golden Year, Season of Giving

The year 2011 has marked Empire College’s Golden Jubilee – 50 years of providing the citizens of Sonoma County with specialized, career-focused job training and legal education…and the businesses of Sonoma County with a prepared, skilled workforce.

Good Samaritan at Empire College

Last night one of our Empire College students in Business Law lost $50.  Andie called on her instructor Mona's cell phone, distraught and asking Mona to look around her seat in Room 206 to see if she had dropped it there or in the “bus stop” outside.  The cash was not in either place.  They both agreed she had probably suffered a loss.

Thankful

Congratulations to the Empire alumni who are thankful that they passed the July Bar Exam. One of the successful Class of 2011 candidates, Michael Teply, shared that his first three days as a lawyer consisted of:

Day 1) getting sworn in Monday morning and picking a jury that afternoon;
Day 2) starting his first trial; and
Day 3) getting a HUNG JURY! 6-6!!!

Congratulations, Michael, and Happy Thanksgiving to all!

More on Empire's Founder

Nice tribute to Empire College founder, Henry Trione, on the front page of The Press Democrat today. It's a good read - one learns a lot about Henry and the shaping of Santa Rosa.
